Discovery

Everyday I pump in the storage room and have to get the key from the nearby room. Sometimes I stop by to chat with its residents. Today, one of them caught me storing the milk in the fridge near my room.

Him: what’s on the frigde? Food?
Me: nope, it’s my milk.
Him: whaa…? so that’s what you’re doing everyday in the storage room!!!!
Me: what have you been thinking? Me semedi there????
(can not find the right word for semedi. It’s like meditating but for some kind of divine inspiration I think. Hehehehe…..)

argh

sometimes i think the more you want something, the harder you'll get it.
is it because you desire it so much that you can not bear to overcome all the obstacles that stand between you and it?
or is it some kind of test to check if your wish is worth to be granted?

i had this test today. passing this test will mean i can get out of what am doing right now and move on to another i really want. passing this will mean i have more time to do research and all the preparation i need to continue my education.

today, i came late and the projector didn't work.
and that's enough to blow my nerves to bits.
geez.....

afterwards, i was relieved. at least i've done it, regardless of the results. i can move on to this proposal thing that i've been delaying for too long. am so hopeful because yesterday because i finally found the right keywords (it was like the day was so much brighter despite all the rain, i almost can hear the chorus singing, the orchestra playing the sweetest fanfare..... whatever. hohoho.....) and find the relevant articles i need. i hope that today i can start reading them and have a better understanding about what am supposed to do.
no such luck.

my new boss came with the program and asked me to make a more detailed plan that includes the budget.

just wanna cry, dammit.

thought i could

things i thought i could do during maternity leave:
  1. finish research proposal
  2. read textbooks on my research
  3. write at least a chapter a week on this book project with boss
  4. post more on this blog
  5. catch up on my reading
  6. watch more dvd
  7. study gmat

in the end:

nothing on research proposal, a couple of chapter on textbooks (which i cannot digest anyway. hohoho), one and three quarters chapter on book, 2 postings (?) on writer's block, read 2 books (one good very lite philosophy book, one overrated bestseller which turn out to be not as good as everybody hyped about), some dvds (yaaay!!!!!), no studying whatsoever.

spend soooo much time with baby instead, which for me is far more satisfying considering i only spend about 2-3 hrs on workdays.

hmmm.......

You Belong in Amsterdam

A little old fashioned, a little modern - you're the best of both worlds. And so is Amsterdam.
Whether you want to be a squatter graffiti artist or a great novelist, Amsterdam has all that you want in Europe (in one small city).

You Are Austin

A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll.
You're totally weird and very proud of it.
Artistic and freaky, you still seem to fit in... in your own strange way.
